What's Pinteresting this Wednesday?

This week I've been pinning pretty pictures. I just kept running into interesting photographs. I often use these photos as writing prompts for my fifth and sixth grade students. I project the photograph onto my SmartBoard or large screen TV, direct the kiddos' writing to a particular skill or writer's craft, and off they write quietly for 15 minutes. They keep these ROUGH drafts in their Language Arts journals and return to them when they need to "publish" a piece. Here are some of the photos I found this week...I just LOVE them!!!

  3. I've been searching your blog for a photo of Daisy and I came across this.
My kids do free writing every single day and it is one of the most successful programs I've set up in my classroom. They've been using sentence starters so far but this has just inspired me to use pictures too. I did that with last years kids but haven't started it yet with this class.

Now... off to search some more for Daisy
