Wordless and Worksheet Wednesday, Summer Style

I'm once again joining Miss DeCarbo of Sugar and Spice for her weekly linky...

What is one of your favorite summer past times?

Mine is our Saturday night family bonfire, weanie roast, and S'Mores!

And speaking of summer... I am joining The Teaching Tribune today for Worksheet Wednesday. Today we are asked to share a one page, SUMMER-themed FREE worksheet.

Since I teach grs. 5-7 Language Arts many of my students leave me in June only to return in August as my students once again. Before they leave me in June I asked them to fill out one of these goal sheets (inspired by a linky Jess from I {Heart} Recess hosted last year). Then when my students return in late August, we will use them as discussion and writing starters. If you'd like a copy of this summer goal setting sheet, just click HERE or on the pic.

Are you ready? Tomorrow's the day!!!!!

Get your throwback posts, pics, and/or pins ready to share!

    1. Oh, yeah! My niece lives in a semi-rural area where outdoor fires are permitted (I'm in the city limits so there's no open burning). We gather at her house and munch away!

    1. I have to admit that sometimes in the dead of winter we make s'mores over the gas elements on our stove. LOL!

    1. I used to do a lot of camping in my earlier years, especially when the kids in our family were young. Now, I like my creature comforts a bit too much.

  4. I would love to have a campfire in the woods somewhere! That sounds amazing! My favorite summer pastime is hanging out in Lake Tahoe! Growing up we went every summer!!

    1. I would love to visit Lake Tahoe! I've seen photos and video of the area and it is GORGEOUS! I can only imagine it in person.

  5. Oh, you have to try to shake up your s'mores. I highly recommend peanut butter cups instead of hershey's chocolate. Heath bars make great crunchy s'mores.

    1. Yum, yum, yummy! Will give that a go for sure since I like peanut butter and Heath bars a LOT! We have gotten lazy with our s'mores of late. Instead of the graham cracker, piece of chocolate bar, and marshmallow, we simply use a Fudge Stripe cookie and marshmallow:)

    2. Putting Reese's on a s'more.....THAT IS GENIUS! I am a Reese's addict, so I need this in my life immediately! Thanks for the great idea :)

  6. A very long time ago we would go to my parent's river cabin every weekend. We water-skied and swam all day and had catfish fries in the evenings. The best was playing Yahtzee on the front porch of the cabin!

    1. Sounds heavenly! Ah, Yahtze! When I was a kid, eons ago, we would sit on each others' porches at night and play by Coleman lantern... such fun memories!

  7. I have two summertime favorites... On the opposite end of the food spectrum! I, too, love a yummy, gooey S'more, but I also love to raid my mom's garden come August for her tomatoes, corn, zucchini, cucumbers, etc!

    I love the worksheet!

    1. Oh, Deb! YES, YES, YES to all the yummy AND good-for-you produce. I am eagerly awaiting my niece's garden. It won't be too long now. Glad you like the worksheet!

  8. My favorite summer activity "the beach". I love everything about the beach. I love sitting in the sun, playing in the sand, listening to the ocean, walking on the beach, sitting under an umbrella with toes in the sand, playing in the waves, and laying on the sand as the sun comes up, the sun goes down, and the stars shine bright! A bonfire on the beach would be amazing too!

    1. I, too, enjoy the beach. What's funny is that I have a beach in my backyard, so to speak (shores of Lake Erie), and I seldom go. I guess we take for granted what we have readily. Think I might need to make a visit later in the week when we have blazing temps. forecast. It is always much cooler by the beach.
