Do you use Literature Circles in your class? What benefits do you see? Are there any pitfalls?

I've just started to introduce literature circles with my third grade inclusion group. The special education teacher and I team-teach, and she's used literature circles a lot. I'm looking forward to using it more. In the past, I've always intended to and then got sidetracked.
